Nail Questions
Q. How do I get rid of lines in my natural nail?
A. Before attempting to use a buffing block at home, it is best to consult with your nail technician because it is easy to over-buff the nail. Regular manicures will consistently keep the nail bed smooth, as well.

Q.
How often should I get a manicure or a pedicure?
A. For best results, manicures should be done every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain healthy skin, cuticles and nails. Depending on your personal wear and tear, pedicures are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks. This allows you to maintain callous removal, dry skin, and address any other issues.
Q. What is the strongest nail shape?
A. A square shape with rounded edges is the strongest nail form. It is the strongest because it allows for less stress on the breaking point.

Q.
What is the difference between Acrylic and European gel nails?
A. European gel nails are made of a nonporous gel compound that is completely clear but can be worn natural, French manicured or polished. It is a flexible product when it hardens but is virtually damage free. The product allows you the ability to use sunless tanning beds or be in a smoky environment without nail discoloration. The gel seals much better than acrylic and is aroma free. Having gel nails allows the client to wait longer in between fills, therefore saving time and money.

Q.
Do gel nails cause as much damage your natural nail as the acrylic nails do?
A. No, because of the nonporous compound, gel cannot absorb the natural moisture from the natural nail bed. The minimal lifting creates less tearing of the natural nail.

Q.
How often do you need to fill gel nails?
A. Every 3 to 5 weeks depending on the individual's average wear and tear, the speed of growth and the size of the natural nail bed. Your technician will let you know what is right for you.
